Hello {{name}}!

Don't Panic....Don't Panic!

It's only 34 days until the IMM, we're not stressed at all....honest!

If you're a Facebook user, you will have noticed a recent post about WCM camping. For those not on FB or just didn't spot it, we're starting to organise how we'll setup our area. Please comment on the post or alternatively send us an email (info@westcountryminis.co.uk) with the following details to help us get our plans pegged down (pun intended):

  • Number of adults and children
  • If tenting - size of tent (e.g. 2 man)
  • If caravaning/motorhoming - number of and general size
  • If you're bringing additional 'shelter' (e.g. a gazebo) - general size
  • Number of Minis
  • Number of other cars
  • If you're bringing a trailer of any type - general size
  • Any other special requirements
Having these details sorted out ahead of the event will really help things run smoothly especially as many of you have volunteered your time to assist with organising other parts of the event.

WCM returned to Castle Combe for the 2019 Summer Action Day. Unfortunately we didn't get a trophy this time but we were awarded with some great weather. As ever, thanks to Ian for his shift on the grill, it wouldn't be a WCM event without some tasty breakfast and lunch provisions.

We had an unusual request earlier this year from a former member (but still Mini owner, some may remember BlackJack1275 on the old forum) - could we take his daughter and her group of friends to their prom? How could we refuse.

So a few of us gathered in Chippenham to collect our passengers and headed off to Grittleton House; I don't think any of us were ready for the number of people waiting for us! It was a great privilege to be part of such an important event for the young guys and girls.

WCM hasn't been to the Atwell-Wilson museum in Calne for a very long time. When they announced the 2019 Annual Show was to be themed to celebrate 60 years of the Mini, it would've been rude not to join in. The event is on the 14th July and is free to attend if you're taking a Mini to display so we thought this would make a good place to hold our July monthly meet.

Once you've got yourself over the excitement of the IMM, don't forget that we've got the IOW Adventures trip in September. We've been getting updates from Red Funnel, ticket sales are looking great and our recent poll on Facebook showed a lot of you are going to be staying on the island too. The WCM team will be heading over to the island in the next few weeks to put some of the final plans together so more news to follow.

And just a final reminder that we've got lots of merch still available. We've got a full stock list, if you'd like to know what we have ready to go, drop as an email and we'll get the list over to you.

Let's join Atwell in celebrating the 60th birthday of the Mini. Someone's bringing the cake, right?
